Standing Together

Standing Together explores shared presence — the way individuals remain distinct while existing within a collective field. Four human forms emerge through layered colour and gestural mark-making, each figure carrying its own emotional tone while standing side by side, connected yet autonomous.
 
The figures are intentionally unresolved, their faces left open and undefined, allowing the viewer to project their own inner states onto the work. Warm ochres and reds sit alongside cooler blues and violets, creating a subtle tension between belonging and difference, closeness and separation.
 
Paint is allowed to drip, blur, and interrupt itself, reinforcing the sense of lived experience rather than idealised form. This work reflects the quiet strength found in simply remaining — present, upright, and in relation — even when identity feels fluid or uncertain.
